Mexican Grand Prix venue almost ready with 2 months to go
With only 62 days until the lights go out for the Mexican Grand Prix, the mexican workers are working hard to get things done. During our traditional monthly track walk, we noticed that every single corner is getting ready to host the return of the Formula 1 circus. Most of the tracks asphalt is ready but have 2 layers pending, this will not take more than 3 or 4 weeks, which will mean more than enough time to finish the track.
In the main straight, the barriers in front of the pitlane are ready and the pitwall was being situated using a large crane. We also noticed that the main straight is not really a straight as the track was moved a little bit to allow the people on the grand stand to have a great view of the track. At the end of the main straight in the so called “Moises Solana Complex” (Turns 1-3) we found out that there is grass and the bleachers 3 and 4 are ready, the kerbs are also done.
In the “Stadium” section (Turns 4-7) the second asphalt layer is ready and the FIA approved barriers are also in place. The Mexican “Eses” (Turns 8-12) have also the second asphalt layer and the kerbs are ready, waiting only for the final asphalt process. The Foro Sol and the paddock have been cleaned and are waiting for some detail. The main grand stand will have a roof that will make the things better for the fans in that one. Below you will find our video of the track walk:
